Welcome to the Cozomo team. We are committed to helping you achieve all of your online goals. Here you will find all the hosting basics for your new Cozomo account.

1. Pointing Your Domain Name

If you bought your domain name from Cozomo, then this step does not apply to you. But if you registered your domain name with a third party registrar like GoDaddy, then you need to 'point' the domain name at the Cozomo Name Servers. This means, that when someone types in your domain name into a web browser, the browser knows where to look for the website.

The process is fairly simple. Just login to your domain name account and click on the domain you wish to point at Cozomo. Click on the Domain Name Server or DNS link and change the information to NS.COZOMO.COM and NS2.COZOMO.COM and apply the changes. It might take up to 24 hours to see the changes as all the name servers in the world have to update too.

4. Setting up your email in using an email program such as Outlook

To setup your email using an email program such as Outlook, you will need four pieces of information. In the Cozomo system, this information is formatted as follows:

1. Your incoming mail = mail.your-domian-name.com
2. Your outgoing mail = mail.your-domian-name.com *
3. Username = your-user-name@your-domian-name.com
4. Password = Your Password

Different email applications will have different setup processes, but they will all require these four pieces of information. Check the help section of the specific application you are using for instructions on setting up email accounts.

For more information on this, see our video tutorials.

* This configuration is for sending email from your Cozomo account. If you choose to send email via your ISP (Internet Service Provider), then you will need to set it up as per their requirements. This will be something like smtp.your-ISP.com and your ISP password. Check with your ISP for setup instructions.

5. Designing your website

There are lots of ways to create a website. You can enter all of your HTML code manually or can use a "WYSIWYG" (What You See Is What You Get) program to do it for you.

Assuming you are new to webpage design, we would suggest using a tool to help build your pages. The most popular program for building websites today is Dreamweaver. Dreamweaver is an easy to use HTML editor that allows you to build a website without knowing how to code HTML. If you choose to use Dreamweaver, we recommend two helpful books for beginners:

1. Teach Yourself Visually: Dreamweaver MX 2004
2. Dreamweaver MX 2004 for Dummies

Another option is the Cozomo SiteStudio. We offer all of our customers this free website building software. SiteStudio is an easy, instant website builder integrated into your Cozomo Web Control Panel that works through your browser.
To use Cozomo SiteStudio, login to your Cozomo Control Panel and click on the SiteStudio icon . By default, SiteStudio is turned off. Click the 'Off' icon to turn SiteStudio 'On' . Follow the easy, step-by-step instructions and you will have your website online in no time.
